Community service and academics are two of the most important things to members of the Alpha Omicron chapter. We pride ourselves in our high academic achievements and in the work we put in around the community.
Academics
Kappa Delta Chi Sorority, Inc. recognizes that academics should be the highest priority because we take pride in graduating all of our members. The Alpha Omicron Chapter prides our members in achieving the highest GPA we can. The chapter does this by doing a set number of weekly study hours and by encouraging our members to always be aware of our grades. The chapter highly recommends that our members get to know their professors and also be aware of the options available on campus for academic help. The University of New Mexico offers free tutoring in Zimmerman Library and our members of Kappa Delta Chi are educated on and reminded of the services each semester.
Community Service
Kappa Delta Chi also prides itself in giving back to the community outside of campus. We participate in the St. Jude's Walk every year, and also pack and serve lunches for the homeless at places such as Joy Junction.
Each semester, the university holds service events for all of the organizations to participate in. In the fall semester, the chapter participates in Fall Frenzy and in the spring semester, Spring Storm. The chapter participates in both of these events every semester.
Kappa Delta Chi Sorority, Inc.'s philanthropy is the American Cancer Society. The Alpha Omicron chapter raises over $200 for ACS each semester and we are very involved with events supporting and hosted by the American Cancer Society.
